Episode 21 | Zines Part 1/2: The Origins of Zines (feat. @LalaZee)

Episode Summary

LalaZee is joining us in this first part of our two-part series about Zines. We take a look at the Daddy of Fandom: Star Trek. How the Kirk/Spock slash fanfiction spread through Zines back in the 60s and laid the foundation of modern fandom. Of course, there are some Kirk/Spock goodies, some history of what that fandom was like, its relationship with the creator Gene Roddenberry, and fanfiction-tropes in the old days that are still present today. All possible through the creation and sharing of self-printed fan magazines or “zines” as we call them today.
